About Us

In September 2013, The Crown Catering Cambridge Group purchased the King’s Head in Dullingham and transformed a rather dated and run-down public house into one of the area’s leading destination restaurants.

Walls were knocked down; beams were discovered and extensive redecoration and sympathetic refurbishment throughout created a warm and inviting dining room, with open fires, oak flooring, contemporary furnishings and art from renowned Newmarket artist, Jacquie Jones. Outside seating overlooks the village green and provides the perfect setting for alfresco dining.

Our Head Chef shares our passion for food and innovative dining, sourcing ingredients from local suppliers to add a modern twist to classic cuisine which is reflected in our menus. Our Restaurant Manager, Paul ensures that service is professional yet approachable, creating a relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere. James is our wine expert and in collaboration with our local wine merchant, Corney & Barrow we have an extensive and exciting list of wines available to suit all palates.

In 2019 we were delighted to have been awarded 2 AA rosettes for culinary excellence.    2 AA Rosettes are described as: “Excellent restaurants that aim for and achieve higher standards and better consistency.  A greater precision is apparent in the cooking, and there will be obvious attention to the selection of quality ingredients.”    An accolade we are proud to have retained for 2020

Testimonials

Whether it’s a wedding or a function; or in the Green Room or Red Room at Tattersalls.  Whether it’s for a friends Christmas party, or entertaining clients at the King’s Head. The food from you is always exceptional

Paul, Nick and the team took first class care of us (as always!) and to see the balloons taking pride of place in the dining room was lovely; please do thank Nick once again.  The food was exceptional and it was very apparent how much thought and care had gone into each and every dish. Beautifully presented, fantastic flavours and only the finest ingredients.  Thank you for ensuring our celebration was both a happy and successful one, we shall look forward to returning very soon.

Our recent dining experience at The King’s Head in Dullingham was a real gastronomic treat. The establishment, which has become renowned locally for its high-end cuisine, is home to an experimental chef who constantly delights us with his innovative dishes, executed with finesse. Our personal favourites are too many to list, but when we last dined at the restaurant the seared hand-dived scallop and lobster with pork belly, Granny Smith, sea herbs and bacon dashi was an exquisite entrée, followed with Cote de Boeuf that was cooked to perfection. The King’s Head gets it right every time and we would not hesitate to recommend the restaurant to discerning diners. What’s more the staff are helpful, knowledgeable and accommodating. Five stars all round!

We recently had the pleasure of dinning at the Kings Head , Dullingham. We found the menu to be very varied and included local seasonal produce, which was expertly cooked and presented to the highest standard. The staff were very attentive and had a good knowledge of the menu and wine list. A return visit is definitely on our high priority list!

I have dined at the King’s Head at Dullingham at least a dozen times and the food has been consistently good.  Usually, if you visit the same restaurant a few times, you can experience variations in standards of cooking but, to my great delight, the chef at the King’s Head has on every occasion presented food cooked to absolute perfection.  The staff at the King’s Head are welcoming and friendly, but what makes dining there special is the chef who is clearly serious about the food he cooks and how it should be presented, which he does with style and panache.  I have tried both the great value two-course lunches and sampled the a la carte dinner menu and both receive the same care over cooking and loving attention to detail.  I highly recommend you give the King’s Head a try.

Sunday Lunch whilst visiting Newmarket
Great menu, super service and amazing food both in presentation and taste. The front of house was impressive and explained the renovation process that the restaurant had been through and how he found the amazing head chef. Can’t recommend highly enough!

Consistently wonderful food and service!
So lucky to have this restaurant close to home. Blown away by the dessert I’ve just had -Trio of white chocolate mousse, aerated, caramelised, pea gel and macaroon! Almost too beautifully presented to eat but so delicious, highly recommend.  Paul and all his staff are always so welcoming and accommodating.
Always excellent
Been here a five times the past six months and the food and service all five times was excellent, I’ve never felt rushed to leave my table. Would highly recommend.
